Points to Remember When Using Induction Cooktops

Installation: Ensure the device is properly installed by a qualified technician. Also, check the comfort and ergonomics aspects. The induction cooktop must be connected to a circuit which incorporates an isolating switch providing full disconnection from the power supply when not in use. Before installing, ensure the work surface is square and level, heat-resistant, and has no structural interference within the space. Also, ensure there is an adequate flow of air from outside the cabinetry to the base of the cooktop.
Lifting the cooking pots: Using moist or damp potholders on hot surfaces can result in burns from steam. Do not let the potholder touch hot heating elements. Do not use a towel or other bulky cloth.
Surface units or areas near units: Surface units may be hot even though they are dark in color. Areas near surface units may become hot enough to cause burns. During and after use, do not touch, or let clothing or other flammable materials contact the surface units or areas near the units until they cool down.
